TIAMA EGYPT · A PLAN FOR YOUR NEXT HOME

Furnishing a new apartment in Egypt: a practical checklist.

Plan the furniture you will use first, confirm the room dimensions and build a budget from actual selected pieces. This guide connects Tiama’s current collections with a checklist and an editable EGP planner.

What furniture should you buy first?

Start with a comfortable place to sleep, seating for the people who live in the home, a practical place to eat and storage for what you use every day. Put those needs ahead of filling every wall. IKEA’s first-apartment checklist also places bedroom essentials before additional decorative furnishings; use the principle, then adapt the list to your own home.

Keep any furniture you already own on the room plan. A new apartment does not require replacing every usable piece or buying a complete matching package. If you work at home, your desk and chair may matter earlier than a console or an extra sideboard. Choose the order from how you live.

Plan the rooms before selecting a size

Measure the room, doors, windows, sockets and fixed fittings. Draw the furniture’s outer footprint, then check doors, drawers and the route between rooms. In a small Cairo or New Cairo apartment, a compact-looking photograph cannot tell you whether the piece fits your actual layout.

For the bedroom, confirm mattress dimensions separately from the complete bed frame. For dining, test the actual chairs pulled out around the table. For storage, compare usable depth and door movement as well as height and width. Our size guide includes a local dining-table space calculator and a measurement checklist.

Check the building entrance, lift, stairs and tight turns before confirming a large piece. Ask Tiama how the selected design arrives and which parts can be removed, if any. Room fit and delivery access are separate decisions.

Choose materials and a style you can carry between rooms

Choose one or two shared finishes or shapes, then compare individual pieces by their specifications. Japandi, Scandinavian, eclectic and transitional are useful design directions; they do not tell you the timber species, construction or price of a specific item. A sofa and a dining table can relate without belonging to one identical set.

Read solid wood, veneer and board descriptions carefully. In this guide, “massive wood” means solid wood. A listed oak or walnut finish does not by itself prove that every component is solid timber. Ask which material is used for the frame, top, panels and visible surface, and keep that breakdown with your chosen size and finish.

How much does furnishing a new apartment in Egypt cost?

Build the total from the actual pieces, quantities, sizes and finishes you choose. A headline starting price is not a complete apartment quotation. Compare the same scope: a table price may exclude chairs, a bed-frame price may exclude a mattress, and a wardrobe rate may need a full dimensional quotation.

Use the planner below with confirmed full item prices in EGP. Enter a wardrobe’s full quoted piece price rather than multiplying its square-metre rate by the quantity of wardrobes. Enter zero quantity for a line you already own or do not need. Blank prices remain unpriced, so a partial subtotal cannot look like a complete budget.

Add delivery and any other costs or reserve separately. Mattresses, curtains, lighting, appliances and moving costs may sit outside the selected furniture prices. Check what each quotation includes before adding an allowance; the planner does not estimate an Egyptian market average or a Tiama package price.

Enter full confirmed unit prices, not starting prices or square-metre rates. Quantities are examples; use 0 to skip a line. Enter 0 for delivery or other costs only when you have confirmed that no amount is needed. Figures stay on this page and are not saved or submitted.

The plan is incomplete. Known amounts are a partial subtotal, not the cost of furnishing the apartment.

Work backwards from your move-in date

Separate room preparation, furniture production and delivery. Finish work that would block access before the furniture arrives. Confirm the selected product’s current lead time, how it is counted and the delivery arrangements with Tiama; do not assume that every design has the same timing.

If you are furnishing in stages, make the first stage usable on its own. Confirm the bed and mattress fit, everyday seating and the essential storage before scheduling decorative pieces. Keep the agreed specifications and dates together so later additions do not depend on memory.

A practical approach to جهاز العروسة

For a new household, make the checklist together around daily use, available space and what is already included in the home. Keep essential pieces, useful later additions and purely decorative choices in separate stages. A longer shopping list does not automatically produce a more comfortable apartment.

Decide which measurements, materials and colour choices need agreement before confirming each piece. Use product links and the selected configuration as the shared reference, especially when several people are helping with the purchase.

Before you send the final furniture request

Review the selected configuration, complete price, supplied items, room and delivery access, delivery area charge and current timing. Read Tiama’s ordering terms and refund policy for the piece you intend to request. The website checkout submits an order enquiry; its acknowledgement is not evidence of a paid purchase.

Keep these details with every chosen piece

  • Product link and selected size, material and finish.
