TIAMA EGYPT · MATERIALS & EVERYDAY CARE
Furniture care: start with the component and finish.
A furniture-care question needs more than a wood name. Tiama pieces can combine solid timber, natural veneer, blockboard, rattan, upholstery, glass or other materials. Identify the particular surface and its selected finish before choosing a cleaner, oil, wax or repair. Keep the product link and your confirmed order specification with the care instructions for that piece.
Confirm what is on the surface
Read the tabletop, frame, panel and veneer descriptions separately. “Massive” describes solid timber in Tiama’s material wording, while a veneer description identifies a surface layer. An oak or walnut colour can be a finish choice, so ask for the actual component specification. For a mixed piece, include the rattan, fabric, glass or metal part in your question as well as the wood.
Ask Tiama for the finish name and the approved routine for your selected model and colour. Confirm whether any maintenance product is needed at all, which surface it applies to and how it should be used. Keep that answer with the order details. A treatment suggested for another customer’s piece or another manufacturer’s coating may not describe your finish.
Compare solid wood and veneer descriptionsA simple starting routine
Use a clean, soft, dry cloth for dust. Confirm finish-specific instructions before damp cleaning. Protect serving surfaces with suitable coasters and heat protection. Check loose parts before moving furniture and lift with proper support rather than dragging. Arrange help for heavy or assembled pieces.
For a mark or spill, tell Tiama what reached the surface and what you have already done. Ask for the next step before trying a stain-removal mixture, sanding, recolouring or recoating. The care response needs to match the exact material and coating; this guide does not prescribe a universal chemical recipe or oiling schedule.
Use the actual product components as your starting point
The following examples show why care questions should name a component. They reflect the dated catalogue reference and do not replace the selected product’s instructions. Open the current product page and confirm any changed details with Tiama.
The Sylva Beech
The Sylva Beech table lists a solid beech top, solid Italian beech base and indoor use. Ask for the care method for its selected tabletop finish, including how to handle a spill and what protection to use beneath hot serving dishes.

Bankok combines natural blockboard, Indonesian rattan and natural beech veneer. Confirm care for the different components rather than applying one product to every surface. Its soft-close mechanism is a separate specification from the surface finish.

Cottage Kitchenette/Coffee Corner describes a teakwood countertop as “water resistant” and lists a solid Romanian beech structure. Confirm the scope of that surface description, the finish and the intended setting; it does not specify a treatment for every part of the unit.

Describe the place where the furniture will be used
Limit direct sun and nearby heat, and favour steady indoor conditions. Curtains can help manage strong window light.
For a balcony, terrace or garden, tell Tiama whether the location is covered and whether it is close to the sea, a pool or irrigation. Confirm intended use for the complete product, including its base, panels and upholstery. A species or style name alone does not establish that every component is suitable for the setting. Use the outdoor planning guide when discussing those requirements.
Ask separately about any protective cover, seasonal storage, cleaning after exposure or future maintenance service. Agree what applies to the specific product and record the advice. A tabletop description should not be treated as an instruction for electrical accessories, wall fixings or every other component on the same piece.
Plan furniture for your outdoor settingSend a useful care question
Start with the product name or link, your order reference if available and the component you mean. Include the selected material and colour, a clear photograph of the whole piece and a close view of the affected area. Explain the setting, when the issue appeared and any cleaner or treatment already used. Keep personal order information in your direct conversation with Tiama.
For delivery damage, a suspected manufacturing issue or a repair request, contact Tiama for the appropriate inspection and next step. Read the current Refund Policy and Terms of Service for the applicable process. Care advice here does not change your confirmed order, those policies or the response agreed with the team.
